History Of the SHO
The SHO was introduced in 1989 with a 24v Dohc Yamaha engine that produced 220 hp engine. From 1989 to 1991 the SHO had minor changes but were very alike, in 1991 Ford offered a Plus option with included a fiberglass hood with buldge, rear spoiler, chrome around windows, black mirror housings, black b&c pilliars, body colored Taurus emblems and 24v DOHC emblems. The Generation 1 SHO's (89-91) only came in a MTX - 3.0L DOHC V6
The Generation 2 SHO's (92-95) came in both MTX and ATX - MTX: 3.0L DOHC V6, ATX: 3.2L DOHC V6
The Generation 3 SHO's (96-99) only came in ATX form and came equipped with a 3.4L DOHC V8.

3.0 liter 24v DOHC 220hp Yamaha Engine, Mazda 5 Speed Manual Transmission. 1/4 mile times average in the low to mid 14's stock.
